It’s officially summer, but I think it’s safe to say that most mothers have been doing summer for well over a month now.
It’s easy to get a case of cabin fever quickly during summertime. Our sweet babes have been in school, around other kids, always having something to do for the last nine(ish) months…and now…it’s all up to us.
Sometimes finding things to do for our kiddos during the summer can be hard. It’s almost as if we think we need to keep up with the constant activity they had in school. I say nay to this. Remember when you were in school? Summer was a time to relax. With the ever growing digital world, I think it’s so important to have our kids out and about during summer. It’s easy to just plop them in front of the TV, but, and in danger of sounding super cliche, how many memories will you make doing that?
So we’ve come up with a list of ten things for you to do this summer with your kids! Some ideas are for older kids (ie. balloon fight), but most can be done with children of any age.
Make 2016 your best summer yet!
10 Things to do This Summer
#1. Find a pool.
This might be in someone’s backyard, or you may need to find a local pool (check out the YMCA in your community).
#2. Story time at the Library.
Every library has them, for all different ages!
#3. Go to a baseball game.
Nothing says summer like baseball and a hotdog.
#4. Water balloon fight.
Age appropriate on this one, but also something your older kids will look forward to.
#5. Plan a park day with friends.
#6. Go on a picnic.
Prep the meal with your kids (pb&j’s) and take a blanket!
#7. Go to the zoo.
#8. Find a community organized event.
If you’ve never been on your towns website, summer is a great time to do that! Check out the calendar section!
#9. Go to a museum.
#10. Go the aquarium.
My little girl is nine months old and loves the aquarium, this is such a great thing for all ages.
We’re praying you continue to have a wonderful summer!
