Fear not, mama.

May 10, 2017

It's time we stop letting fear rule our emotions.
Fear. My most hated word because it has caused me so much heartache, anxiety and brokenness for what? Something that never came to pass.
This world clings tightly to fear. You see it everywhere. On TV, the news, politics and the list can go on and on.
Can I speak to your heart today?
Fear comes, you can’t stop it from coming. But it’s what you do with it that matters. It’s you’re choice to live with it or not.

Did you know that there are 365 Bible verses about fear & anxiety in the bible? It’s because God knew it would be our greatest struggle here on earth because it’s Satan’s only weapon to use against us. Not only that but fear is the only thing that can keep us from God, knowing Him and fulfilling His plan for our lives and it has to end and some even believe fear is a natural and even harmless emotion but it is so far from harmless and fear can come in different ways and all of it is harmful.

It comes in the form of anxiety, it comes in the form of self-worth or lack there of, it comes in the form of shyness and nervousness and it even comes in the form of love which is most deceiving. Sometimes we want to hold onto our children a bit longer because tomorrow is not promised or we’re afraid of loosing them.  It’s a form of fear. We’re afraid to raise our children in this world because of everything going on around it, we’re afraid to send them to schools, or send them on missions trips because we’re afraid of loosing them and I’m not saying cautiousness is fear.. Because that is not. There’s a difference. Caution is protecting them from danger and fear is holding back because of fear of what may happen. Fear cages and we’re not meant to be caged. We’re not meant to be tamed.

Lisa Bevere said one of my favorite quotes saying “God didn’t save us to tame us” We’re not meant to be tamed but we’re meant to be wild and free.
Fear is an emotion that is not an option for us Daughters of God born for such a time as this to raise up a generation that’s fearless.  I believe our children are the generation that will praise Jesus, seek after His heart and live an offensive lifestyle for the sake of Christ.. I want my daughters to be Lioness’ to know who they are in Christ and knowing His perfect love. But for them to know who they are, for them to be fearless and to be free from the bondage of the world they must first see that in me! I must break the worldly habits that my generation before past onto me so that she will only know Christ and His perfect love.

How do I do that?  Sometimes at night before bed my oldest love Evelynne who’s four years old  tells me she’s scared to go to bed.. I know how that feels because I have struggled with that too. Especially with my husband being gone most nights it can be easy to let a fearful imagination take place in my mind. But what I have learned to do is fight back and not just fight back but fight from victory and not for it. We already have the victory in Christ because He destroyed the sting of death and took back hell’s victory when He took it to His grave when He died at the cross and to seal the deal He rose three days later! We don’t fight for victory but from it. How do we do that? We powerfully speak it with faith and believe.

When my daughter comes to me telling me she’s scared because there is no age limit that the enemy preys on therefore it’s never too early to give them swords and teach them to fight. I go down to her level, look her in the eye and tell her “Evie, what does God tell us about fear? God has not given us the spirit of fear but of power, love and peace! His love that He has already given us casts out all fear in Jesus’ Name!”  We’re a family that fights back with swords (Being the bible) For it is the most powerful weapon there is.

So Mamas, fear not.
Whoever is president, fear not.
Don’t hold your children with fear of loosing them. Hold them with promise that God has a plan for their life that is full of hope.
Don’t end your day with the fear of you being a bad mom but know that God’s strength is made perfect in weakness.
It’s time we stop letting fear rule our emotions, identities and how we mother but it’s time we unleash the lionesses  inside us and show the devil who has the bigger sword.
